I am first and foremost, a mom of 5 amazing children and grandma to the coolest tiny humans ever. I’m a wife, daughter and sister to 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Needless to say, as a kid growing up, our home was chaotic. I’m a native Californian; I grew up in Pleasanton, at the time, a small suburb of San Francisco. My father was a dentist, a graduate of the University of The Pacific in San Francisco, my mother worked for Barbizon while my dad was in dental school. As a child, I spent hours learning to sew on my mothers Bernina. My mother, who I often refer to as the queen of all domesticated talents, is an extremely accomplished seamstress. She taught me to sew when I was very small… but truth be told. I didn’t really start putting my heart into sewing until I had children of my own.

For 17 years, I worked in the dental field. Starting out in my fathers practice as a teen. After I started my own family at the age of 20, I decided to become a dental assistant. Over the next 17 years, I worked my way up to practice management. Following my marriage to my second husband, and our decision to have more children, we decided that I was going to stay home with them. I walked away from dentistry and, as it turn out, that was the best career decision I could have ever made.

A few years after my youngest daughter was born, Miss Madison began with a call from my oldest daughter one evening in 2013. She had moved to upstate New York after graduating high school and had decided to attend the New York Photography Institute. The area she wanted to excel in was Bumps and Babies. She asked if I could make her a simple tube-top maternity gown with a long chiffon skirt. After doing a bit of research, I found what she was looking for… These maternity stylized photo’s were incredible! I got to work and made her the first “MIss Madison” Gown and thus was born the “Miss Madison Boutique”.

Today, Miss Madison is a fully functioning, online boutique. We empoloy 5 home seamstresses, a business manager and my favorite youngster who organizes everything for me while also modeling many of our girls couture gowns. Every Miss Madison dress, separate, bodysuit, girls dress, newborn item and accessory, is made from start to finish by a single person. There are no factories or assembly lines. We try to purchase all our fabric from American textile companies and we’re proud to work with some of the most talented and accomplished photographers in the world!
